How to Use Advanced Search
This tool helps you build precise Google, Bing, and ChatGPT searches using advanced operators.
- All Words — Pages must include all terms.
- Exact Phrase — Words appear exactly as typed.
- Any Words (OR) — Matches any of the listed terms.
- AND Terms — Forces explicit AND between terms.
- None (-) — Excludes unwanted words.
- AROUND(n) — Finds terms close to one another.
- Filetype — Limit results to PDFs, CSVs, KMLs, shapefiles, etc.
- Context — intitle:, inurl:, intext:, allintitle:, allinurl:, allintext: applies to primary search terms.
- Glossary Sources — Adds geology-focused definition sources such as AGI, USGS, GSA, Mindat, and reference dictionaries.
